This research will look at:
1. Experience of parents & family of peer support from other parents when they attend care and protection legal proceedings at Broadmeadow Children’s Court (Newcastle), or have contact with a parent peer by phone or in a group with other parents.
2. Experiences of court staff, lawyers, and others who work at or represent and support parents at Broadmeadow Children’s Court in care and protection court matters, of parent partners providing support for other parents at court and about legal proceedings.
PARENTS & FAMILY: If you answer ‘Yes’ to these questions, you are invited to participate in this research:
- Have you had contact with a parent partner at court, on a phone call, or in a group with other parents?
- Are you aged 18 years or older?
PARENTS & FAMILY will be asked to complete a quick online survey (anonymous) and/or attend a brief interview with a researcher on the phone, via video, or face-to-face (your choice). Please read the Participant Information Statement (parents) and be sure you understand its contents before you complete a survey and/or consent to an interview.
COURT STAFF, LAWYERS & OTHERS will be asked to attend a brief interview with a researcher on the phone, via video, or face-to-face (your choice). Please read the Participant Information Statement (court staff) and be sure you understand its contents before you consent to an interview.
